CD singles dying out

High Street store will stock no more

Woolworths has announced it will stop selling CD singles because nobody's buying them anymore.

The UK's biggest singles' retailer says pressure from internet downloads means the format is now in terminal decline.

However it will continue to stock one-off releases - such as the X-factor winner - as these have proved sure-fire sellers.
