Prison for teens caught with a blade

Sixteen and seventeen year olds who get caught carrying knives could soon go to prison.

At the moment, the police can only confiscate the weapon and give them a caution if they are under 18.

300 people a year were sent to jail for posessing a knife ten years ago, now that figure is 1,000 people a year.

If you get caught a carrying a knife you could be sent to jail for 4 years.
