Cast say farewell

The cast of Emmerdale are gathering later to say goodbye to Clive Hornby.

Clive was an actor on the ITV 1 soap - he played Jack Sugden.

He died earlier this month.

He'd been secretly battling cancer.

The 63 year-old was the longest serving cast member in the soap's history.

Tougher sentences on the way

Dangerous drivers are going to be sent to prison for longer in the future.

The group that advises Judges on how long sentences should be thinks it's about time that drunk and drug drivers are treated more severely if they take someone's life.

Motorists who cause a death because they are intoxicated could automatically get a 7 year jail sentence soon.

There could be tougher sentences on the way for people who cause accidents from things like texting aswell.

Face to face - offenders and victims

The Government want to make teenagers - who are caught with a knife - visit hospitals where stab victims are being treated.

The Tories claim there's been another U-turn though.

At first, the Government appeared to suggest offenders would be forced to meet victims.

Now it seems more likely they'll talk to doctors instead.
