Investigation underway

The children's secretary Ed Balls says he's holding back from taking immediate action over the case of Baby P - we can't tell you his name for legal reasons.

Mr Balls has ordered an immediate inquiry though into the welfare services at Haringey Council in north London.

In a tragic story, a 17 month-old boy died after being abused by his mum and two men in the final weeks of his life.

He'd been seen 60 times by police and social workers.

Thousands of jobs to go

BT's slashing its workforce by 10,000.

The telecoms giant says most of the cuts will be amongst their contract and agency workers.

Around one thousand people a day are losing their jobs - this week's already seen job go at Virgin Media and GlaxoSmithKilne.

The Communication Workers' Union says it's devastating news.

Controversial Kanye

Kanye West has lashed out at the MTV European Music Awards.

He reckons he only won best urban act because he bothered to turn up to the show in Liverpool.

The rapper also thinks Britney shouldn't have beaten Rihanna in the best act of 2008.

Saucy Sainsbury's

The supermarket giant Sainsbury's have been left a bit red faced after giving a booklet on sex positions to some Suffolk school children.

They accidentally handed out the pamplets to a group of 8 year-olds on a school trip in Haverhill.

The blunder only came to light when a parent saw their kid flicking through the pages.

They may be in the same place, but Boyzone and Rihanna aren't making sweet music together.

It's claimed a member of the Umbrella star's band got into a fight with the Irish lads yesterday.

The bust-up in a Sydney club had to be broken up by security.

Gamers queue overnight

Thousands of people have been queuing in London overnight to get their hands on of the biggest games of the year.

Some people dressed as elves and goblins whilst they waited to buy the 'The Wrath of the Lich King' at HMV's store on Oxford Street.

It's the second instalment in the World of Warcraft series - and is expected to be one of the biggest selling games before Christmas.

Adele's aodration for Laura

Adele's revealed she wants to sing with X-Factor's Laura White.

The star - who performed in a chapel for Mencap's Little Noise Sessions earlier in the week - would like to invite the 21 year old on stage with her in the future.

Adele reckons Laura shouldn't have been booted off the show.

Meanwhile the controversey surrounding the X-Factor won't go away...

Diana Vickers made it through to the next round because she claimed to be too ill to perform on last week's show.

But she was pictured just three days before enjoying Bonfire Night.

Alexandra and Ruth have been sticking up for her saying she was genuinely ill though and they missed her on last week's show.

Daniel Craig reckons some of Hollywood's leading ladies could be fantastic Bond girls.

The 007 star was asked who'd suit the role best out of the gorgeous Nicole Kidman, Gwyneth Paltrow or Cate Blanchett.

But the Bond actor refused to choose just one - saying they'd all be great.

Elmo, Big Bird & Ricky!

After starring on the Simpsons, Ricky Gervais is now heading for Sesame Street.

According to reports over in America The Office and Extras funnyman will make a guest appearance on the classic US kids show.

Ricky says he was offered the job and there are some things you just don't turn down.

Reunion on horizon?

The Fugees might be making a comeback!

If Pras and Lauren Hill want to get back together, Wyclef says he'd love to aswell.

But for now, he's concentrating on an X-Factor-style competition.

He's looking for the next big American singer, with Black Eyed Peas star Fergie - it's for the MotoRokr contest.

Hanging around all this fresh new talent though, Wyclef says he could be tempted to go back to his roots....
